Vostra Llar Palamós: 60 years of falling in love, making friends, ambitions, failures, progress, inspiration, tradition and life at Hotel & Restaurant Vostra Llar.
Hermínia was born in Palamós and had a factory producing corks for wine and champagne, which she exported all over the world: Mexico, the Philippines, Italy, France and the United States, among others. The product was successful all over the world until in the United States some plastic parts were sold that performed the same function and were much cheaper. This, added to a big fire at the factory, led Hermínia and her children to reconsider the future. Two of them opted for hospitality and collaborated with their mother in the opening of Hostal Vostra Llar. It was 1958 and at that time, the establishment only offered accommodation and breakfast. But at the request of customers, they started serving meals and, thanks to Hermínia’s home cooking, it started to be successful. Here begins the story of Vostra Llar!
Vostra Llar was born
Your Palamós Home was started with the value of protecting a family. Hermínia founds Hostal Vostra Llar and, alongside her children, set it up.
The building of this first “Vostra Llar” was located right next to where we are today. It was a much smaller establishment but just as welcoming. Initially only breakfasts and lunches were served at the request of the guests staying at the Hostal with always a family and homely treatment.
Restaurant opens
Due to the great demand from customers, Vostra Llar begins to serve meals. The cuisine offered is homemade, always with local products.
Change of building
Hermínia retires and one of her sons, Lluís, decides to take over the reins of the business that his mother, with much love, had started.
Your Home is moving to the building we are currently in. An artisan from La Bisbal was commissioned to design the tiles on our famous and symbolic facade.
New management
Carmen and Boy become managers of the Hotel & Restaurant Vostra Llar.
After many years working in the business, Carmen and Boy begin to implement everything they have learned and to take charge of Vostra Llar Palamós.
La Piconera is born
We say goodbye to the facade that characterized us so much for years to make way for a new, more modern image. In order to keep the essence, we decided to preserve our historical sharranques.
In 2010 we also created La Piconera, the Vostra Llar bar where we offer coffee afternoons and cocktail nights and some tapas. This is how what had been a simple bar became a place to meet friends, organize work meetings or relax after a long day.
New deco
After years of making small changes to the image, it is decided to bet strongly on a major renovation. Of course, always with the idea that you feel at home.
Porch renovation
We keep renewing. On this occasion it was one of the most well-known spaces in your home: the porch, the space right in front of the Garden.
We listen to you
We include vegan hamburgers in the La Piconera menu and vegetarian paellas in our restaurant.
We always try to incorporate new dishes and renovate the rooms in order to adapt to your requests and proposals. But always maintaining the essence that we have inherited with so much love.

Vostra Llar was born
Vostra Llar Palamós began with the courage to protect a family.
Hermínia founded the Hostal Vostra Llar and, together with her children, started it.

Following the great demand, Vostra Llar Palamós starts its food service with dishes based on local cuisine.

Herminia retires and one of her sons, Lluis, decides to take over the business that his mother, with a lot of love, started.
Vostra Llar Palamós moves to the building in which we are currently. He is in charge of the design of the tiles of our famous and symbolic façade to an artisan from La Bisbal. And at that moment, the best known face of the Vostra Llar is created.
